Are You Looking For New York Vacation?
A a short vacation trip to New York planned carefully should allow the keen visitor enough time to see all the top places that should not be missed from the itinerary. No trip to New York would be complete without a visit to the Empire State Building, and the 86th floor is definitely not to be missed. Of course, many people prefer the view form the Rockefeller Center which is a little higher, but it can be difficult to see anything when there is bad weather. Visitors to New York will often get the best view of the Statue of Liberty from the many tour boats but New York has seen a dramatic rise in the number of tourists since 9/11 and often it is worth disembarking at Ellis Island instead.

The Staten Island ferry can still be traveled on without cost and can offer excellent photo opportunities of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, dropping off at the terminal is the best place because it is where there are some good street artists. While you are on a a short vacation visit to New York New York a trip to the area where the Twin Towers used to stand has become something that every person who visits this great city must do. While there is a strange eeriness about the place that is larger than you expect at the same time it does not feel as if it needs to be photographed. Shopping is one of the many reasons visitors flock to New York whether it is for good old-fashioned discounts along Broadway or in the Warehouses down Lower East Side or the beautiful and extravagant Tiffany’s, New York has it all.
Bloomingdales is another famous store (for the wealthy) to look around but it is Maceys, who will give 11 percent discount on production of a tourist card where most people will head for. An excellent tourist location is the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum which is likely to be closed until the end of 2008, once the refurbishment is complete it will be worth visiting when it re-opens. Many special (and large) craft are located here including a number from World War II, namely the aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid. It is also worth a visit to the New York City Police Museum and while the museum does not have an entrance fee, five dollar donations are generously accepted, especially for those people in love with the crime side of New York City!
After that why not visit the Lower East Side Tenement Museum as it’s a time capsule of migrant New York built in 1864 and was a grim home for waves of immigrants - it’s what made America great (and appalling for a time). If you visit Central Park (and why wouldn’t you?) you can call into the Museum of New York City which has some excellent exhibitions about the past, present and future of the city. The museum is in a beautiful building which is free to enter but a nine dollar donation is normally given with plenty of souvenirs available. Most visitors seem to be on a flying visit so end up missing some of the most beautiful areas and that’s why a short vacation in New York should really be the minimum stay.
